First seen at IAAPA 2019, locations who would like to get their hands on a more compact version of the arcade exclusive reboot of Play Mechanix & ICE’s Centipede Chaos can now do so. Here’s a render of the new cabinet to show it’s angles:
The game software on this is exactly the same as found in the Deluxe model, so the only differences here are on the hardware. Those differences aren’t vast, but to list them out:
- 49″ HD screen instead of a 75″
- New side panel with artwork reminiscent of the classic Centipede arcade design
- No space between the control panel and monitor
- No mushroom seats
- Slightly different marquee (Standup doesn’t mention the Boss Battle nor the “Win Tickets”)
While primarily designed for redemption play, operators can set it to Amusement mode so players can play just for points (which is my personal preference). Click here to see a video of that Amusement Mode, while below is footage of the Standup model I filmed at IAAPA 2019:
If you’ve played Centipede Chaos, what do you think about it?
