Arcade Heroes Stern Pinball Teases Their First Game Of 2022 – Rush

Posted by Ongames247 on December - 28 - 2021

I’m happy to report that we won’t be ending the year on the bad news of the GameWorks closure – we’ve got a new pinball machine to discuss. I may also have a new arcade game to talk about too, depending on what answer I get from the manufacturer.

Stern Pinball has launched this teaser for their next game, which will be their first for 2022. Rush is themed after the Canadian hard rock band of the same name, thus following in the footsteps of many other rock band-themed pins (The Rolling Stones, Metallica, KISS, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, LED Zepplin, etc). Here’s the trailer, then some conjecture from Pinside:

17 songs are included with this one, and assuming they do what has been done in the past, you’ll be able to select your favorite when you start a game, but others will play. These songs are: 2112, Bastille Day, Cygnus x 1 Book One, Cygnus x 1 Book Two, Far Cry, Fly By Night, Freewill, Headlong Flight, La Villa Strangiato, Limelight, One Little Victory, Red Barchetta, The Big Money, The Spirit of Radio, Subdivisions, Tom Sawyer, and Working Man.

Personally I’m only familiar with Tom Sawyer by the name (I’m sure I’d recognize a few others if I heard them), but so far it sounds like Rush fans are really pleased with the selection. On Pinside they are saying that this design is being led by John Borg, who has worked on a few other music pins, but we’ll have to wait a few more days before the full reveal.

An in-person reveal was supposed to happen at CES 2022, but Stern announced this morning that they are only doing a virtual version of their booth for that event due to the latest rise in Covid cases. This reveal will also provide a strong focus on their Insider Connected kits (of which I am still waiting on mine to arrive while many have reported they received them. Oh well.)

What do you think about this news?
