Fresh off of one arcade tradeshow we’ve got another taking place this next week, but interestingly enough, it is sounding like there will be more brand new content at this one than we saw last week at Amusement Expo. The show is called DEAL Expo, which is short for the Dubai Entertainment Amusement & Leisure Expo, and it’s been around for a while now. Being in Dubai it’s one that I’ve never attended; It also almost always takes place in May but of course things have been upended on timing lately. This year’s DEAL is taking place March 28th-30th and I’ve just received a press release about a new-new game that will debut there, Whacky Tracks by Touch Magix.
This is the cabinet as extracted from their new ad; You can see it’s a train-themed videmption game, almost like combining Thomas the Tank Engine with Candyland. The press release below doesn’t detail the gameplay, other than to say that it has been designed specifically for kids and was also developed in conjunction with a “global operator.” There are three buttons, colored red, yellow & green, each with a hammer or lever on them. Since it’s for kids I’m sure the gameplay is straightforward and simple, but we won’t know exactly how it works until it’s seen.
